Ham Radio Achievements

On this page a summary my ham radio achievements on the 50 and 144 MHz bands since my return to Ham Radio in August 1966 and on the HF bands since May 2005. Probably not impressive to fellow ham operators with an average or even better antenna system. But my antenna situation is well below average since I live on the first floor of a nine-storeyed flat. All my HF and VHF antennae are installed on my balcony only 4-5 meters above ground and sea level and screened from half of the world by the building I live in. Although my unfavourable antenna situation is far from a radio amateur's dream and from what I was used to during my early years of ham radio, the space and height restrictions I have gradually became a challenge rather than a handicap.

Adding a new DXCC after spending many hours in a pile-up competing with the "big guns" to catch a DXpedition or a (for me rare) DX station with my modest antennae is certainly rewarding.
